If you are a lover of animals, volunteering for the Saving the Animals Together (STAT) Holiday Wrap fundraiser is one you will enjoy. STAT will hold the wrapping fundraiser at Tractor Supply Company (TSC) in Jackson on December 5, 12 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the third year the fundraiser has been held to benefit STAT, which is a foster-based rescue and community outreach organization assisting homeless and abandoned animals.
“Everyone always has a lot of fun during the fundraiser,” said STAT Community Outreach and Marketing volunteer Kelli Appleton. “You can sign up for any spot, or as many spots as you want. If possible, wear something festive like a Santa hat or an ugly Christmas sweater, etc.”
Volunteers will be on hand to wrap gifts that customers purchase from Tractor Supply or bring to the store. The service is free with STAT only asking for donations for gift wrapping.
“You don’t have to purchase your gifts there (TSC), but we encourage you to take a look around,” said Appleton. “They always have great holiday sales on pet supplies, clothing and some of the cutest toys to ever appear under a Christmas tree.”
Gift wrappers are need for all three days and must sign up before the volunteer date.
“This is a good opportunity for teen and college-age volunteers,” said Appleton. “We also have ongoing volunteer opportunities for record keeping/data entry; social media management; graphic arts; marketing and many other areas.”
STAT is a 501(c)(3) in good standing and will provide documentation of volunteer hours served. This volunteer opportunity would satisfy TN Promise requirements for high school seniors and those already using the scholarship in college, as well as for other students requiring volunteer hours. You may sign-up to volunteer by making your request on the event page for the STAT Holiday Wrap fundraiser. Call STAT at (731) 503-0364 to learn more about its volunteer needs.
