5 Family Fun Ideas for the Weekend March 13-15

weekend051315It’s Wednesday, so make some really fun plans for the weekend to spend time with your family.

Okay, we had to slip in one more event, so six.

1. Memphis Wrestling Fundraiser {Henderson}
200carl_perkinsHelp Memphis Wrestling raise money for the Chester County Carl Perkins Center. You do not have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy the evening of grown men chasing around and pinning each other in the ring all to benefit children. Memphis Wrestling will include well-known names like Jerry Lawler – WWE Universe, Brian Christopher, Bill Dundee and more.

Date: Friday, March 13, 2015
Time: 6 p.m. (doors open) and 7:30 p.m. (bell time)
Admission: The tickets are $8 advance and $10 at the door. Children 12 and under free with one paid adult.

2. Go Three on Three and support Relay for Life {Medina}

Medina Middle School will hold a 3 on 3 basketball tournament at the school on Saturday, March 14 to support Relay for Life. All ages of players may participate.

Date: Saturday, March 14, 2015
Time: TBD
Admission: Entry fee is $10 per player.

3. Celebrate Casey Jones’ birthday {Jackson}

Casey Jones was born March 14 in 1863 and the Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum will celebrate his birthday on Saturday, March 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be plenty of fun for the children with a jump house, scavenger hunt and more. The cake will be cut at 10 a.m

Time: 10 a.m.
Admission: Free.

5. Cinderella {everywhere}

Cinderella 2015 is finally here and this version looks like it is going to be a good one. Not only can my children not wait, I am excited about it opening in theaters on Friday. You know the story – girl slaves away for her step-mother (Cate Blanchett, who I’m sure does a wonderful job) and step-sisters, sleeps by the fire place, meets her fairy god-mother, goes to a ball…you remember.

5. Kids Fest {Selmer}
All of your Disney favorites will be at Kids Fest and they are hoping to see you too. There will be special appearances by Elsa, Anna and Olaf; Snow White; Sponge Bob; Minion and others. Children will also enjoy games, jumpers, music, rides and more.

Admission: This is a free event.

6. Music Man {Milan}

The Milan High School Van Hook Players bring a musical favorite to the stage featuring the talent of its students.

Date: Sunday, March 15, 2015
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Admission: Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
